Summer Event: The Rhythm is going to get you!

The Rhythm is going to get you...FIT!

Plan to join us for a Zumba® class with certified instructor Amanda Shuya who will lead us through an energetic hour of easy to follow Latin-inspired dance moves. When: Friday, July 23rd, 5:00-6:00 pm
Where:W1-17 Van Vliet Centre (Butterdome), University of Alberta. (If you're not sure where to go, meet Linda Slater at the John W. Scott Health Sciences Library at 4:30, and she'll lead you over and show you where the change rooms and W1-17 are.)
Cost: $5.00 (payable at the event) to provide an honorarium for Amanda

NAHLA has introduced a "Featured Member" section on its website. The first profile is Louisa Fricker, who is a research coordinator for the Faculty of Nursing at the University of Alberta.


2010, January 7th - Apply for the NAHLA Continuing Education Award

The award was established at the 2009 AGM to enhance access to professional development opportunities for NAHLA members. It will consist of $200 and free registration to the annual TRENDS mini-conference. Deadline: March 1st, 2010.

2009, September 16 - Call for Nominations (updated)

In addition to Vice-President/President-Elect, the position of Secretary is also open. Please see the Call for Nominations below. The nomination date has been extended to Sept 21, 2009.

2009, July 27 - Call for Executive Nominations 2009-2010

Please consider running for the NAHLA executive for 2008-2009. There are two positions that are open:

  • Vice-President (3 year term as VP serves as President and then Past-President in subsequent years)
  • Secretary (2 year term)

If you wish to be nominated or to nominate someone else, please fill out this form and submit to one of the Nominating Committee members. The deadline for nominations is now Monday, September 21st, 2009.

Nominees for the above position and their nominators must be members in good standing of NAHLA, and according to the Bylaw (Art 5, Sec 1) NAHLA executives have to be CHLA/ABSC members. For further details about the roles and duties of the post, please refer to the Association Bylaws at: http://www.nahla.ca/bylaws.html, or feel free to contact the nominating committee, or any other member of the current executive.
