NAHLA-L is for the dissemination of announcements relevant to NAHLA members, the posting of questions, and the exchange of information relating to the information profession.

Anything that you send to NAHLA-L will be sent out to all subscribers unedited and unchecked. Please do not send personal messages to the list; notify the individual privately if you wish to send a personal message.
Always use a descriptive subject line. Try and indicate the nature of your message using the words CHAT (for a joke or entertainment-type message), URGENT (for an urgent message), or ? (for a question).
Always sign your postings. Include your name, job title, email address, and institutional affiliation. Try to limit your signature to 5 lines.
Try to keep paragraphs and messages short and to the point. Do not send long documents to the list!
Do not send encoded documents to the list. ASCII text only, please.
NAHLA-L is not for the dissemination of advertisements and/or product announcements from publishers or producers of software, Web pages, etc.
NAHLA takes no responsibility for the opinions and information posted by list subscribers. Please do not post any defamatory, profane, offensive, threatening, or illegal material. Do not post any copyrighted materials without the permission of the copyright owner.
NAHLA reserves the right to terminate access to any user who does not abide by these guidelines and the right to make changes to list whenever deemed necessary.
